Pastel Possibilities

Malia is going to lead you in a workshop will be a creative exploration of the many possibilities when painting with pastels. Some of the techniques we’ll experiment with will be watercolor underpainting, ink, and adding texture to your paintings. We’ll discuss pastel application as well as composition for successful paintings.
 
Paper and extra media for experimentation will be provided.
 
Malia is a pastel artist from Locust, North Carolina.  She has studied pastel painting with many nationally known pastel artists.  Malia’s award-winning work has been included in state and national exhibitions.  Her paintings received a first place and Honorable Mention award in the animal category of Pastel Magazine Pastel 100 Competition.
